Most studies about Joseph look at his affliction and focus on how we can grow in perseverance through the inspiration of Joseph. That is excellent, but this study will take a different direction. Through Joseph’s life, we see a comparison between how people respond to Joseph, the chosen son, and Jesus, the chosen Son.
We are going to look at how the people who were exposed to Joseph responded to him. And then, we’ll use that as a mirror to see if our heart attitudes can relate.
Then we will spend time gazing at the character of God to help us see Him and thereby lead us to respond to Him rightly.

Part One: The Story of Joseph
As we look at these incredible chapters in Genesis, let’s do so through the perspective of the people surrounding Joseph. As you study each of the characters, you will put yourself in this story and see how God speaks to you along the way.
Part Two: Joseph as a foreshadow of Christ
In this section, we will look at the similarities between Joseph and Jesus. Some are noted in the introduction, and if we totaled them all, they would number over one hundred! That, my friend, is on purpose, and we can learn important lessons from looking at it a little deeper.
Part Three: Judah, Another unlikely chosen son
Often when we study this section of Scripture, Judah doesn’t get the attention I think he deserves. It’s quite amazing how God chose him to be in the line of our savior, and as we will soon see, it is ultimately what this whole story is about!
Part Four: Application for today... God’s sovereignty displayed
There are many things we could take from this amazing story, but you will close out this study with three points that are as encouraging as they are sobering.
