Week One: A CALL TO BOLD ENDURANCE
The topic of conscience can be a little bit tricky because, on the one hand, Paul is undoubtedly calling us to live our lives so that we can stand before God with a clear conscience - this means that something is required of us. We must work to live as we have been called and we must offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1).
Week Two: APPROVED BY GOD
“All three of these metaphors involve a person who is committed to something bigger than themselves and who is willing to sacrifice and endure challenges to accomplish a greater goal. And of course, the highest example of this is Jesus himself. Because of his commitment to the Father, he suffered crucifixion by the Romans. Similarly, Paul himself is now suffering in a Roman prison. Hardship and sacrifice are inherent to the Christian life. This is why Jesus’ resurrection is the foundation of Christian hope.” (The Bible Project)
Week Three: WHY YOU MUST KNOW THE WORD OF GOD
In this section, Paul shifts from talking about the ungodly to talking about Timothy, a righteous man, and warning him that all who follow Christ will suffer persecution. Paul uses his own life as an example of suffering persecution for Jesus.
Week Four: BE READY
In today’s passage, a few things are happening. First, we see Paul warn Timothy about how people are going to respond to the truths of God. Then, we see him call Timothy to live a godly life that is unlike the people described in verses 3-4. Thirdly, we can see this passage as a warning to us as well - a call to stand firm in the Lord when the rest of the world seeks after their own desires.

Hi! We are Arabah Joy (from arabahjoy.com) and Jen Evangelista (from graceincolor.com) and we both have decades of ministry experience.
